Danielle Rosvally
Danielle Rosvally, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of theatre and resident violence consultant/fight director at the University at Buffalo. There, she teaches classes in stage combat, acting, theatre history, literature, and Shakespeare. She has been doing stage combat for over two decades, and teaching it for more than one. Recent favorite fight direction credits include The Play that Goes Wrong, 9 to 5, Mr. Burns’ Post-Electric Play, and Henry VI part ii. She has published articles and chapters on stage combat in such venues as The Fight Master, HowlRound, Sports Plays (Routledge, 2021), and Theatre Topics.
Ja'Nae Puckett
Ja’Nae Puckett is excited to be joining the Brawl of America team this year! She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and still calls Kentucky home. Ja’Nae is a recognized Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. She has a wide and extensive movement background, specifically in gymnastics and tumbling where she has put in work as an athlete and coach. She began her acting and stage combat journey five years ago; during that time, she enjoyed training with professionals in the industry, as well as having served as a teaching assistant and teaching artist for stage combat classes. Ja’Nae has also had the opportunity over the last two years to expand into film projects, where she has worked as a stunt actor, fight director, and choreographer. Ja’Nae has a passion for the art-form and is committed to creating safe, impactful storytelling for actors and audience members. She is looking forward to continuing her journey with stage combat for years to come!
Madeline Achen
Madeline Achen (she/her) is a Minneapolis based theatre artist and jack-of-many-trades. She is the Technical Director and Safety Coordinator at Theatre in the Round, and handles the fight and intimacy coordination there. Madeline is an Advanced Actor-Combatant (SAFD) and is also IDC and first aid trained. She also works locally as a scenic and props designer, creature creator, and occasional actor. She's been a Teaching Assistant with Art in Arms since Fall 2022.
Melanie Liebtrau
Melanie is an advanced actor combatant with the SAFD. She is a stage combat instructor and choreographer in NYC, as well as a proud member of Actor's Equity.
Noah Ratgen
Noah Ratgen is an actor, fight choreographer, and teaching artist based in the Twin Cities. Over the summer, Noah was awarded “Best Performer - AACW” at the National Stage Combat Workshop where he became an Advanced Actor Combatant with the SAFD. Select credits: Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, History Theatre, Hoosier Shakespeare Festival, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, and Utah Shakespeare Festival’s Shakespeare in the Schools Tour.
Carly "CB" Cason
Bi-costal from Lake Michigan to the Gulf of Mexico, Carly Belle covers ground as a teacher and choreographer for stage combat, intimacy, and dance. CB is a founding member of Counterfeit Combat, and is the Head Acting Coach with Model Act Studios in Chicago, IL. On Sundays you can catch her assisting for Chuck Coyl with the team at Actor's Gymnasium. 2024 marks ten years of training with the SAFD for Cason.
Meme Matteson
Meme Matteson is an Advanced Actor Combatant and fight choreographer based in Chicago. Originally from Fraser, Colorado, their background is in Musical Theatre, and they began stage combat training at Columbia College Chicago in 2017. She assists classes at the Actors Gymnasium, and has been on staff for numerous SAFD workshops. Recent choreography credits include "Wait Until Dark", and "A Spare Me" at Whitney Young Magnet High School.
